In 2010 he fought ex-Australian Heavy Weight boxing champion John Hopoate, and then 6 days later ran 475 kms across the Simpson Desert to raise $32,000 for Breast Cancer Research
In 2011 he ran across the Sahara Desert then completed his 20th Ironman Triathlon 3 weeks later, before being selected in the Australian Triathlon team to race in the World Championships in Las Vegas
